The Zigoitia sociocultural center will host the itinerant exhibition «Trashumantes» starting this Thursday, aiming to adapt art to local spaces, and will be open until June 4.

After its stops in Amurrio and Laudio, the itinerant project «Trashumantes» arrives at the sociocultural center of Zigoitia. The inauguration will take place this Thursday at 7:30 PM, and the exhibition can be visited until June 4.
During the inauguration, many of the participating artists will be present and will conduct a guided tour, explaining the project's approach and the working processes of their pieces.
Driven by Zas Kultur, «Trashumantes» is based on an idea of mobility and adaptation to the territory. It is not an exhibition conceived for large halls or fully equipped spaces. It stems from a simple observation: many municipalities in Álava have active cultural spaces that do not always have complex exhibition infrastructures. Faced with this scenario, the proposal presents a clear idea: art adapts to spaces.
The exhibition is designed to travel in a car. All works are transported in a suitcase that is part of the exhibition device itself and is also shown to the public. The suitcase is not just a logistical element, but also a declaration of method: mobility, economy of means, and scale adjustment.
In this edition, launched last year, artists linked to Álava participate: Natalia Albeniz, Zirika, Marcos Ramos, Dorleta Ortiz de Elguea, Miriam Isasi, Anabel Quincoces, and Zigor Urrutia.
