The organizers from the Youth Assembly of Aramaio have once again organized the Eguzkierripa Rock festival, an event that has become a "tradition" in the town. Members of the assembly, former members, and other local residents have contributed to the organization.
The program will kick off on Saturday at 12:00 PM with a talk at the Erreka gaztetxe. The topic of policing will be discussed in a session prepared by assembly members, considered to be of general interest.
Following this, at 2:30 PM, a communal paella lunch will be held at the Andramari hermitage in the Eguzkierripa neighborhood. After lunch, the traditional 'tribiala' will take place to liven up the atmosphere.
“"People enjoy the concerts, but we believe it's important to engage people from the morning and also offer opportunities for education."
The concerts will start at 8:00 PM, featuring five bands this year: Lepue Zapaldu (musicians from Arrasate and Aramaio), Hankaz Gorak (Arrasate), Izorrai (a new group), Balaklab, and El Exterminio de la Raza del Monok. Musically, the organizers mentioned that the festival will lean more towards punk sounds this year, despite their annual efforts to innovate.
The organizers emphasize that Eguzkierripa is more than just a "party space," advocating for smaller festivals over large macro-events, recognizing the importance of having such a program in a small town like Aramaio. Despite a limited budget, they ensure all bands are offered the same conditions.
A key objective of the festival is to foster local life, and they encourage residents to participate in the organization, stating that "we need people willing to bring these kinds of initiatives forward together."
