The Balmaseda City Council will implement a network of over twenty video cameras in the town's historic center to regulate traffic and more efficiently manage the new pedestrianization system.

Aiming to enhance protection in Balmaseda's historic center, the City Council approved a new pedestrianization system last year. This plan seeks to restrict vehicle access through the town center, providing monthly passes to residents.
To better monitor and regulate traffic, the Council will invest 23,500 euros in installing a network of approximately twenty video cameras. These devices will be strategically placed at various locations, including San Severino Square, Martín Mendía Street and Promenade, and La Calzada Avenue.
Additional control devices will also be installed on Encartaciones Avenue, at the Station, in La Magdalena, La Cuesta, Los Fueros, Correría, El Cristo, and the public parking lot of Lehendakari José Antonio Aguirre y Lekube Park. A report from the Local Police indicates that this system will help improve road traffic management.
