The fronton in Garai became a showcase for wool processing on Saturday, during a workshop organized by the Trumoitte association and artisans from Artilan Etxea in Baztan. Attendees worked with wool using traditional tools.
Alazne Sarrigoitia, a member of the Trumoitte association, described the event as "as interesting as it was entertaining." "We had a great time. Moreover, in small villages like Garai, there are still sheep, and the workshop was ideal for learning about the old craft and seeing that the raw material can have other uses."
“"The event was as interesting as it was entertaining."
Furthermore, Trumoitte has appealed to the public to donate old wool processing machinery they might have stored in their homes in Durangaldea. The association aims to use these machines in courses to give new life to the traditional wool industry. To do so, they have asked people to contact a member of the association (685777398).
“"Perhaps, at some specific moment, we will be able to use them when we hold a similar course."
