Paula Blasi once again showcased her top form in the Durango-Durango Emakumeen Saria, held in Durango, with the finish line at Ezkurdi square. After confirming her superiority on the challenging Goiuria climbs, Blasi descended solo to the finish, emphasizing her dominance.
The Catalan rider, winner of the Vuelta and the Amstel Gold Race, secured her victory ahead of Évita Muzic and Alice Towers, who finished 16 seconds behind the leader. Blasi continues her fantastic month.
At the summit of Goiuria, Blasi increased the pace, leaving Muzic and Towers behind. The pair had to yield to the undeniable strength of an unstoppable Blasi, who displayed her extensive skillset throughout the race.
They shrugged and lowered their heads in the face of an unstoppable phenomenon.
Following her return to competition after winning the Vuelta, Blasi reaffirmed her hierarchy. An early breakaway formed by Eva Anguela and Leire Almena (Cantabria Deportes), along with Fariba Hashimi (Vini Fantini), managed to gain a four-minute lead but was caught with 30 kilometers remaining.
Blasi shone on the second and decisive ascent of the Alto de Goiuria, descending solo to the finish line. Her dominance was clear, proving she was several levels above the rest of the competitors.
In the Durango-Durango Emakumeen Saria classification, Paula Blasi (UAE) took the win with a time of 2h56:13. She was followed by Évita Muzic (FDJ) and Alice Towers (Education First), both 16 seconds behind. Lauren Dickson (FDJ) and Riejanne Markus (Lidl) completed the top 5, 44 seconds adrift.
Blasi controlled the classic from start to finish, fulfilling her role as the clear favorite. With her excellent spring form and high morale after her unexpected Vuelta victory, she delivered a magnificent spectacle in the decisive part of the race.
