Lasarte-Oria's Maialen Chourraut has achieved a bronze medal in the first World Cup event of kayak slalom held in Tacen.

Maialen Chourraut qualified for the final with the eighth-best time in the semifinals, and in the final, she executed a clean and fast run to secure the bronze medal with a time of 83.85.
Only Slovenia's Eva Hocevar (81.61) and Australia's Jessica Fox (81.74) finished ahead of the athlete from Lasarte-Oria.
In the kayak cross discipline, however, the athlete from Lasarte-Oria was eliminated during the qualifying rounds.

"We have gone step by step. In the semifinals, I struggled with a 3-4 maneuver, and in the final as well. But I fought until the end. The Tacen channel is difficult, requiring caution, and I am happy with what I have achieved."
