The music group Kaparrak from Aretxabaleta has released their second album, 'Goreti', comprising seven songs with influences from both Basque and Spanish.

The music group Kaparrak, from Aretxabaleta, was formed in 2023 in a "friend group atmosphere". As the members explain, "we weren't good at football, so we started this to find an outlet for our free time". The band consists of nine friends, some with prior experience in music school and others who have played in previous bands. Currently, Kaparrak is the sole musical project they all share.
The audience appreciates the band's energetic and fun attitude on stage, which has helped the Aretxabaleta group establish its place on the Basque music scene.
After their debut album, 'Urtzi', released in 2025, they have now released their second work, titled 'Goreti'. Both albums were recorded at Kuartelean in Aretxabaleta, this time under the guidance of Peio Uribetxeberria. The new album features seven songs, and the band members state they "don't set limits on creativity", presenting tracks in Basque, Spanish, and a mix of both languages.
The band prefers not to define their music with a single label, describing it as "a mix of many sounds", although they base their style on rumba and danceable melodies. "We aimed to break internal limitations with this second collection", resulting in "different songs" that align with their style and identity. Regarding the lyrics, their intention is "not to create poetry, but something more popular", aiming for "anyone to be able to identify with the words". The design for the new collection was created by Idoia Elexpuru, also from Aretxabaleta.
The songs recorded in the first three months of the year have been released individually on all digital platforms, including Spotify. For now, they have no plans to release a physical format. Additionally, each song has its own music video; most were recorded and produced by the band members themselves, with some collaborations from artists such as Beñat Abasolo, Ainara Plata, and Laura Sola.
They do not plan to hold an "official" presentation concert for the new collection, but they are already performing the new songs in public. "Last weekend, we were at the Bat Batean festival in Vitoria-Gasteiz; we had a great time! A huge crowd gathered, and everyone was giving their all, singing and dancing", they commented.
