The Maiztegi educational center in Iurreta now features a new children's park, installed by the City Council with an investment of 48,250 euros. This space has been conceived as an inclusive, safe, and communal recreational environment. Wood is the primary material, chosen for its durability, aesthetic warmth, and ability to naturally integrate into the school setting.
The design prioritizes user safety with smooth structures and rounded edges, while simultaneously fostering a sensory connection with nature that benefits children's development and emotional well-being.
The new play area includes three main elements: a triple swing with an accessible seat for children with different motor abilities, a log cabin playhouse with a climbing roof designed for symbolic play and coordination development, and a multi-play tower equipped with a slide, climbing wall, and balance circuit.
The project is completed with the installation of continuous impact-absorbing surfacing, which not only ensures safety but also facilitates accessible routes for all children.

"We want to create a warm and active environment that strengthens the link between learning, play, and respect for nature"
