To celebrate the end of the camps, various activities have been organized in Berriz. Among the age-specific events, the main novelty this year is a giant 65-meter water slide. It will be set up on the slope from the University to the cemetery, and children from 2nd to 6th grade of Primary School can use it in the morning, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Younger children in 3 and 4-year-old preschool will enjoy inflatables at the Olako sports court and the San Lorenzo water jet park.
In the afternoon, the giant slide will be open to users of the Gazteleku (youth center), as well as other children, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Friday is also the last day the Gazteleku will be open.
Due to the traffic disruption for the installation and removal of the slide, the road on that slope will be closed from 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM. Cars will need to use the detour, going up towards Ibarrat from the post office junction.
Additionally, the art camps will also conclude on Friday. This year, a mural has been created on the wall near the entrance to the play area in the square. These works, along with others from the camps, will be on display.
For this summer campaign, the City Council has hired a total of 88 staff members: 70 monitors for the open camps, seven for the art camps, and eleven for the sports campaign. 504 children registered for the open camps, and 52 young people for the art camps. In the sports campaign, approximately 1,300 activities or places have been filled.
