Elizkale Corpus Festivities: Extensive Program for the Weekend

Starting with the Reto Championship and continuing with music, dance, and numerous events from Thursday to Saturday.

The Elizkale Corpus Festivities will commence tomorrow with the Reto Championship and will extend from Thursday to Saturday with a program packed with activities.

Tomorrow, the Elizkale Corpus Festivities will begin, and as is customary, the Reto Championship will be held as a prelude. The event will take place at the Xiriako café, starting at 5:00 PM, with registration to be completed at the bar itself.
On Thursday, June 11th, the festivities in Elizkale will kick off with the txupinazo (opening rocket) at 6:00 PM. Following this, young musicians from the music school will perform a kalejira (street procession), after which the buruhandiak (big-heads) will parade. At 7:00 PM, a mass will be held in honor of the deceased residents of the neighborhood. In the evening, from 8:00 PM onwards, Andoni Ollokiegiren will offer a performance in front of the Mendizale tavern.
On Friday, June 12th, students from the Juan Antxieta music school will hold a kalejira at 6:00 PM, and at 7:00 PM, Kantu Jira will take over. In the evening, from 8:30 PM, it will be the turn of musician Porru DJ.
Saturday, June 28th, will be the main day of celebration for the residents of Elizkale. The festivities will begin at midday with dancers from the Itsasi group. In the afternoon, residents will take to the streets again accompanied by trikitilaris (Basque accordion players). At 8:00 PM, a friendly dinner will be held at the Main tavern; prior registration will be required at the tavern. From 8:30 PM onwards, Imuntzo eta Beloki will be responsible for livening up the party, and at midnight, the winning number of the raffle will be drawn.
