The Elorrio Town Hall has activated the Community Mediation Service, with the aim of improving neighborhood coexistence and dialogue. This service, managed by the specialized association Argi-Begi, seeks to channel citizens' disagreements free of charge, before conflicts escalate to judicial proceedings or prolonged deterioration of relationships.
The service addresses a wide range of everyday issues, such as disturbances from excessive noise, unpleasant odors, property repairs and maintenance, disputes over improper use of common areas, damages from civil liability, and antisocial behaviors. The scope of mediation covers not only conflicts between individuals or different homeowners' associations, but also disagreements between neighbors and commercial establishments, between private property owners, or between citizens and the administration.
The management and attention of the service are entrusted to professionals from the specialized association Argi-Begi, composed of experts in Psychology, Law, Pedagogy, and Social Education. Their mediating work, guided by neutrality and impartiality, helps to re-establish communication between parties and build shared, lasting, and mutually satisfactory solutions.
