Durango will commence its summer season on June 18th with the opening of the Tabira pools and the Aramotz and Tabira water parks, amidst the ongoing transformation of the sports complex.

As summer approaches, Durango will reopen its doors on June 18th to the Tabira swimming pools and the Aramotz and Tabira water parks. This opening coincides with the strategic transformation of Tabira Kirolgunea, part of the 2023-2027 Legislature Plan that will progressively alter a significant portion of the municipality's sports facilities.
The City Council has prioritized ensuring the pools' functionality throughout the summer months, despite ongoing construction work. In the coming days, the new filtration room will be completed, and necessary tests will be conducted to guarantee the proper operation of the facilities for the entire summer campaign.
Season passes will be available for purchase starting tomorrow, Thursday, May 21st, through the Durango Kirolak APP and the website www.durangokirolak.net, as well as in person at the Landako II office. The Council aims to facilitate access by combining physical assistance with digital tools.
While construction progresses, users will once again have modular changing rooms this summer, which will be used for the last time before a new phase of remodeling begins. Additionally, several changing rooms at the football field will be adapted as shower areas with specific access to meet seasonal needs.
The Councilor for Sports, Iker Txertudi, emphasized that "guaranteeing the opening of the summer pools was a priority for the City Council" and assured that the work is progressing "at a good pace" to meet the planned deadlines. He explained that the transformation of Tabira will represent "a before and after for sports in Durango, modernizing facilities that required a deep update".
Once the summer campaign concludes, the City Council plans to commence work on the new changing rooms and the future cafeteria in October, thereby avoiding disruptions during the peak usage months. The comprehensive renovation of Tabira Kirolgunea will be carried out in phases between 2026 and 2028, and will also include a new multi-court and the renovation of the football field, aiming to create a more modern, functional, and accessible space for citizens.
