The Durango City Council, in partnership with Stop Violencia Vial, has launched a campaign to promote the safe use of electric scooters, emphasizing responsible riding.

The Durango City Council, in collaboration with the association Stop Violencia Vial, has initiated a campaign to raise awareness about the safe use of personal mobility devices, with a particular focus on electric scooters. Under the slogan 'Conduce con cabeza' (Ride with your head), the initiative provides clear and visual information on permitted and prohibited actions.
Recommended practices include the mandatory use of helmets and reflective elements, riding on the roadway or bike lanes, obeying traffic signals and speed limits, and using scooters individually. Conversely, it is forbidden to ride with headphones or while using a mobile phone, to use sidewalks or pedestrian areas, to drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or for individuals under 16 years of age to use these vehicles.
«Through this campaign and the ordinance, we aim to promote safety and responsibility in the mobility of all citizens», explained both institutions. Regarding parking, it is only permitted in designated areas within the locality. On sidewalks, a three-meter clearance must be maintained, with two meters from the curb, and parking is prohibited near entrances to public buildings, health centers, schools, transport stops, or urban furniture.
Fines range from 100 to 1,000 euros, and include vehicle impoundment for very serious infractions.
