The Donien Atxa ritual at Traña-Matiena festivities will undergo a change this year due to the closure of the Bodeguilla bar, but the groups will maintain their initial meeting point.

Every year, during the Traña-Matiena festivities, the Donien Atxa ritual included a special moment: carrying the log on the shoulder and entering the Bodeguilla bar to hit the back wall three times. This gesture, born in a festive atmosphere, was a sign of gratitude to the establishment's staff for the service provided to the groups.
However, this year, with the Bodeguilla bar closed, this part of the ritual cannot be repeated. Festival participants, nevertheless, will fondly remember the bar's members, both current and former, as well as the faithful attention given to the groups over the years.
As a sign of this loyalty, the groups will hold their first festive gathering near the former Bodeguilla bar. From there, they will warm up to parade along Trañabarren street and, as every year, head to the crossroads of Laubideta, Trañabarren, and Zubibitarte streets. At this point, they will place the symbol indicating that the festivities are in full swing.
