Bilbao City Council has completed the resurfacing of Lezeaga Street in the Basurtu neighborhood, with the goal of improving the road surface and optimizing safety and traffic conditions.

Bilbao City Council has finalized the resurfacing works on Lezeaga Street in the Basurtu neighborhood. This project aims to enhance the condition of the road surface and optimize safety and traffic conditions for vehicles and all road users. The work was carried out in recent weeks and involved an investment of 268,356 euros.
According to municipal sources, the intervention was conducted on two sections of the street, located in the upper part of the neighborhood, allowing for a complete renovation of the pavement. The surface had suffered significant wear and tear due to usage and the passage of time.
Specifically, the executed tasks included milling the existing pavement, laying a new asphaltic conglomerate layer, raising manholes and adjusting them to level, installing kerbing, and renewing the horizontal signage within the intervention area. Cleaning and final touches were also performed to ensure the proper completion of the project and the overall improvement of the urban environment.
During the construction period, Bilbao City Council maintained vehicle traffic with alternating passage, minimizing disruption to residents and road users.
In other news, the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council will adapt two bus stops in the Arriaga area, in Elgoibar, along the N-634 road. This project has a budget of 212,746.41 euros, with works expected to be tendered in July and completed by the end of the year.
The provincial institution has explained that the intervention will create a safer and more accessible space in the high-traffic zone between Elgoibar, Mendaro, and the highway junction, which hosts significant industrial areas such as the Arriaga industrial park and Schaeffler Iberia.
Two areas will be adapted, one for each direction of traffic, facing each other, with ample waiting space. Additionally, a signalized pedestrian crossing will be established for safe road crossing.

"These actions are part of the effort we are making in road infrastructure to promote the use of public transport, improve the service, and make it safer."
