The Berriz festivals have had an excellent start, with a wide program of events for all ages throughout the weekend.

Following yesterday's txupinazo (opening rocket), residents fully immersed themselves in the festive spirit, with many extending the celebrations into the early hours of the morning. Today, the children have taken the lead: they headed out as soon as they woke up to participate in the games organized by Bizijolas.
In the green area of Muntoko, youngsters engaged in various activities: crafts, sandcastles, cardboard houses, and water games, among others. Children of all ages gathered, and while each might have finished with their favorite activity, almost all tried the different proposals, seizing the opportunity to have fun with friends.
Later, at 12:30 PM, the musical street tour Kantu salda commenced, offering different versions of usual songs. As midday arrived, more people gathered in the main square, and the festivities continued in a remarkable atmosphere, despite the fatigue from the previous long night.
In the afternoon, children and young people will once again be the main protagonists. The Zaragueta Public School will host pelota matches. Afterward, the festivities will return to the town center with an electronic bertsolari (improvised verse singing) session and a street parade.
At 8:00 PM, the first-ever I. Goiko Karrera popular race will take place. Participants will be divided into teams of four people from different age groups, covering a 1.2-kilometer route.
The festivities will continue non-stop into the night, until Tuesday. On Sunday, June 28, Pride Day will be celebrated, featuring pelota matches, a bertsolari session, and a parade of giants. In the evening, various performances will take place in the square.
On Monday, June 29, San Pedro Eguna will be celebrated, starting with a photograph of the 'gaupaseros' (late-night revelers), a pintxo (tapas) competition, a main mass, and dance performances. There will also be concerts in the evening.
On Tuesday, June 30, San Pedro bigarrena will be celebrated, featuring the II. San Pedro Erronka for young people, meals, and traditional Basque sports (herri kirolak) in the afternoon.
