Anton Inza, president of the Aloña Mendi sports club, will leave his position after six years at the helm. Members will elect the new president and board of directors at today's assembly.

Anton Inza, president of the Aloña Mendi sports club, will step down at the end of his term. He will have completed 40 years with the club in September, although he announced his intention not to continue in January 2020. The pandemic halted the board's renewal plan, and no other successor has come forward since.
At today's assembly, attended by approximately two thousand members, the new president and board of directors will be elected. After reviewing the candidates' programs, a vote will take place. A candidacy proposed by the club itself, with a plan for the next four to five years, will be presented, with details to be shared at the meeting.
The president meets monthly with a committee of fourteen people, one representative from each section of the club. Today's meeting also aims to renew this committee. This year, with the inclusion of chess in the sports club since last year, there will be an additional committee member.

"It has been an honor to be president of Aloña Mendi, but it is also time to step down."
