The Abadiño City Council has opened the tender process for the project to repair and improve the access road to Atxarte. This route is heavily used by both vehicles and pedestrians visiting the natural area. The project has a budget of 291,523.95 euros and an estimated execution period of four months. The deadline for submitting bids is May 29.
The intervention involves a comprehensive upgrade of the road, which has suffered significant deterioration over the years, partly due to a landslide that damaged the surface and the water drainage system. The plan includes a complete renewal of the pavement, improved drainage, and stabilization of slopes, aiming to reduce the risk of new landslides and ensure safer circulation.
Furthermore, the Council plans to incorporate specific measures at points where traffic and pedestrians converge. This is intended to improve coexistence on an access route particularly popular with people engaging in outdoor sports activities. It is also emphasized that this work addresses a long-identified need and will enhance the entrance to one of the municipality's most prominent natural spaces.
