The Elorrio Town Hall is renewing its commitment to promoting reading, this time with three new initiatives aimed at children and youth. The municipal library will become a space for encounter and creativity for Elorrio's youngest residents and teenagers, through the "Azalerako ipuinak", "Berba Kabi", and "Berbaparranda" clubs.
The "Azalerako ipuinak" initiative, facilitated by Saroa Bikandi, will feature three sessions this autumn and continue into the spring of 2027. Aimed at babies up to 36 months and their families, it will use non-verbal communication through massage to revive songs, poems, word games, and short stories from oral tradition and children's literature, immersing babies in literature. Sessions will last 40 minutes, with two groups forming at 4:30 PM and 5:15 PM.
Registration will be open from today until September 25th. Places are limited and will be allocated by lottery if there are more applications than available spots.
For children aged 3 to 8, the "Berba Kabi" club will also have its own space, facilitated by writer and illustrator Amaia Egidazu. From October to May, families will meet once a month for activities centered around literature and oral storytelling. In each session, they can discover and take home books recommended by Amaia. Registration begins on September 23rd and ends on October 2nd. If places are exceeded, a lottery will also be held.
Finally, the "Berbaparranda" club will extend its program until May, with monthly meetings where young people can share their impressions of their readings, debate, and enjoy literature in a relaxed atmosphere, facilitated by Oihana Etxegibel.
The Town Hall encourages families and young people of Elorrio to participate in these activities and take advantage of the resources offered by the library. Those who wish to obtain more details about the calendar or register can go directly to the library facilities.
