The aesthetic and dimensions of the Durango town square will soon change, as the Town Hall will demolish the old building throughout October. According to the planned schedule, demolition of the building's interior will start at the beginning of the month, while the exterior will be demolished after the San Fausto festivities conclude.
Once the building is demolished, works to expand and renovate the square will commence. The council estimates that the project will take approximately five months, with a total planned investment of 428,800 euros.
Municipal sources have emphasized that expanding the square and implementing improvements will enhance the quality of the public space. Among other additions, black stone benches, gingko biloba trees, and water features will be installed.
In front of the Town Hall balcony, a blank facade will remain, where a mirror-like structure is planned to be erected.
