The municipality of Amorebieta-Etxano will officially be part of the route for the Itzulia 2027 cycling race, with one stage concluding in the town. This was confirmed following the signing of the agreement on October 15, 2027.
The signing ceremony was attended by Amorebieta-Etxano's mayor, Ainhoa Salterain, and OCETA's president, Javier Riaño. This agreement secures the municipality's presence in one of the most significant events on the international calendar.
This initiative will strengthen Amorebieta-Etxano's historical ties with cycling. The mayor stated: "We are very happy that the Itzulia will return to Amorebieta-Etxano. We are a town with a great cycling tradition, and we know that the people of Zornotza will greatly enjoy this stage finish in the next edition of the Itzulia."
Both parties will collaborate on the organization and development of this stage within the municipality, thereby reinforcing Amorebieta-Etxano's commitment to the race.
