During this session, led by a member of the Bidegin association, testimonies will be shared by three residents who have experienced a traumatic death in their youth. The aim is to emphasize the importance of collective farewells and community support in such situations.
This cycle began on April 15 at Sutegi, with the founder of the Hil Arte Bizi project discussing knowledge on the subject. The organizers have prepared an extensive program until November to address the topic of death from various perspectives, including interculturality, parenthood, literature, and palliative care.
Upcoming events include a lecture on palliative care by psychologist Nerea Manterola on May 28 at the Sutegi auditorium. On June 11, the Iñurri association will present a live podcast titled "Facing Death," where experiences of individuals who have closely encountered death will be shared.
Additionally, on September 22, literature expert Ainhoa Aldazabal will lead the talk "Death and Literature" at the Sutegi municipal library. On October 18, the documentary "Aitatxo. Voices of Silence" will be screened, exploring the grief of losing a child from a father's perspective. The cycle will conclude on November 5 with the talk "Death and Interculturality," a dialogue among citizens of different origins.
Registration for all sessions is free and can be done through the usurbilkultura.eus platform. This initiative is promoted by the caring municipality of Usurbil, with the collaboration of the Bidegin and Iñurri associations, the Hil Arte Bizi project, and the Matia foundation.
