After concluding last week with a summer atmosphere, a notable rise in temperatures is forecast for the coming days. In response, Euskalmet has issued a yellow alert from Monday to Wednesday, at least, due to a heatwave. The alerts are related to the risk of forest fires, sustained high temperatures, and extreme temperatures.
According to the meteorological agency's forecasts, temperatures could exceed 30 degrees Celsius in the coming days. Furthermore, the intensity of the southerly wind increases the risk of forest fires. Consequently, the yellow alert associated with this will be in effect until Thursday, throughout the day, concerning sustained high temperatures and forest fire risk. The alert for extreme temperatures will be active on Monday and Tuesday, between 13:00 and 20:00.
From Wednesday onwards, although temperatures may slightly decrease, they are expected to remain around 25-30 degrees Celsius until the weekend, maintaining the hot weather typical of the summer season.
The risk of forest fires is high due to the elevated temperature and the intensity of the southerly wind.
The specific forecasts for individual days are as follows: on Monday, in Usurbil, the sky will be partly cloudy with some high clouds, and a light to moderate south-easterly wind with strong gusts is expected; sea breeze is possible in the afternoon. On Tuesday, a similar situation is anticipated, with the wind losing strength around midday. On Wednesday, the sky will be partly cloudy to clear, and heat clouds may appear in mountainous areas in the afternoon.
