Less than two and a half months remain until Usurbil is immersed in a festive atmosphere, with celebrations scheduled from July 1st to 5th. The festival committee began preparations in February, and since then, it has served as a meeting point for local entities and individuals wishing to propose initiatives and complete the program.
Now, the committee has taken another step by issuing calls to decide who will kick off the festivities and to select the program's design. The participation period opens on April 21st and will run until May 19th.
To submit candidates for the chupinazo, residents have two options: electronically, by sending an email to kultura@usurbil.eus, or in person, by depositing their proposals in the boxes set up by the festival committee in various municipal facilities such as the town hall, the library, the sports center, and Potxonea. It will be necessary to specify who the candidates are and the reason for their nomination.
“"Participants must request the competition rules at the town hall and submit their work at the municipal reception."
Regarding the program design competition, it has been organized by the Town Council and the festival committee. The deadline for submitting creative works will be from April 21st to May 19th. This year's winner will receive a remuneration of 600 euros, one hundred euros more than in the previous edition. Participants will be required to design both a Basque-only version and a bilingual version from the outset.
