Today, Thursday, April 16, marks the start of the Usurbil Beer Fair, organized by Usurbil Kirol Elkartea. The inauguration ceremony will feature Jon Begiristain Agirre, the future head coach of the Bera Bera handball team. The fair will run for four days, until April 19, offering music, food, and drinks, as well as important sports events.
Throughout the weekend, various activities will take place. On Saturday, April 18, the Usurbil K.E. senior men's team will play a national first division match against Barakaldo, and organizers have called for public support. In the evening, the Copa del Rey final, which Real will play in Seville, will be broadcast live at the fair on a giant screen.
One of the special moments of the weekend will be the senior men's last home match, against Barakaldo, which is very important and will need everyone's support.
The fair will operate using a ticket system, payable by cash or card. Five special and two regular beers will be available for tasting. On the first two days, April 16 and 17, only dinners will be served; while on April 18 and 19, both lunches and dinners will be available. On Sunday, April 19, a raffle prize ceremony and a mus championship have been organized.
With this event, Usurbil Kirol Elkartea aims to raise funds, and the help of volunteers is essential for this. Organizers estimate they will need around 125 volunteers to assist in the kitchen, bar, setup, dismantling, and cleaning. Citizens have been encouraged to participate to ensure the fair is a success “together”.
