190 family units participated in the lottery. The session was open and could also be followed live via the municipal website. All participating family units can check the lottery results via a code received by SMS.
The recipient of the housing will receive notification from the council. They must prove they meet all requirements: be registered in Oiartzun, demonstrate housing need, and not exceed income limits. If applicable, the council will request the necessary documentation from the awardee within 20 days (with the option to request a 10-day extension).
The lottery was conducted with a volunteer spectator present at Landetxe. First, the ball for the housing allocation number was drawn, followed by the one determining the order of the waiting list. The interested party with the latter number is first on the waiting list.
Mayor Joana Mendiburu Garaiar opened the event, recalling the launch in October of the mobile housing office in Oarsoaldea, an initiative by four municipalities in collaboration with the Oarsoaldea Development Agency. In Oiartzun, the service is available on Tuesdays on the ground floor of the town hall and is free, by appointment.
The aim is to provide information, guidance, and assistance with housing-related procedures to citizens, including those seeking homes, tenants, and owners. Topics covered include programs like Etxebide and Alokabide for subsidized housing, ASAP and Bizigune for renting out properties, benefits and options for marketing non-standard housing, grants for renovation and accessibility, and the possibility of converting premises into housing.
The deadline to register in the municipal subsidized housing registry is always open. If subsidized housing is available for sale, lotteries are held every three months. To register, one must visit the Citizen Attention Service office.
