This event marks the second time Lekuona Fabrika celebrates the occasion, following the success of the first edition in 2025. The 'Tejiendo en compañía' group, which meets monthly at Aldakoenea and Lekuona Fabrika, originated from that initial gathering.

Organizers emphasize that participation is free and open to both experienced knitters and beginners. They encourage residents to bring their needles, yarns, and ongoing projects to enjoy a shared community knitting experience.

Additionally, Lekuona Fabrika will feature literature related to knitting. A special selection of books, novels, and magazines on knitting techniques, patterns, textile sustainability, and artisanal fashion will be available for loan.

Thus, Errenteria joins this commemoration for the second time, an initiative that began over 20 years ago. World Wide Knit in Public Day was first celebrated in 2005 with the aim of bringing knitting out of private homes into public view.
