In Lasarte-Oria, the City Council has begun the evaluation phase of the San Pedro 2026 poster competition, with a total of 31 works accepted that meet the established requirements. From Wednesday, April 24, until May 6, proposals can be viewed on the municipal website, allowing citizens to review them and provide their feedback.
“"This process allows us to gather the sensitivity and criteria of the citizenry, adding a collective dimension to the selection."
Once the participatory period concludes, a jury comprising three graphic design professionals will select the winning proposal, taking into account both technical criteria and citizen feedback. The chosen poster will receive a prize of 600 euros and will become the official image of the San Pedro 2026 festivities.
Meanwhile, in Hernani, the Sanjuanes Festival Committee has completed the first phase of its poster competition, having received twelve proposals. From these, four finalist works have been selected to announce the municipality's festivals. From last week until April 30, citizens can participate in choosing the winning poster through a voting system that combines online and in-person channels at Biteri Kultur Etxea.
The winning poster will be announced in early May 2025 and will come with a prize of 700 euros, half in cash and the other half as a voucher for use in Berriak establishments. Both processes highlight the commitment of the city councils to encourage citizen involvement in shaping the symbolic elements of their festivals, strengthening the bond between residents and their celebrations, and consolidating festivals as a shared space for cultural and social expression.
