Julia Curto, a fencer from Lezo, has secured a tenth-place finish at the Spanish Cadet Fencing Championship, marking the best result ever for the Lezoko Beleak Esgrima club.

The town of Olmedo in Valladolid hosted the Spanish Cadet Championship across all three fencing disciplines, with over 250 qualified athletes. Julia Curto, representing the Lezoko Beleak Esgrima club, achieved an impressive tenth position, a historic best for the club.
Curto began the preliminary phase ranked fourth, securing five victories and suffering only one narrow defeat. Throughout the competition, she displayed a high level of fencing, even defeating the national ranking's number one competitor with a 5-1 score. She advanced through the elimination rounds until narrowly missing out on a medal match, losing to Kamila González from Valencia, who ultimately won the bronze.
Meanwhile, Eneko Castillo, the club's other participant, concluded the championship in thirty-third place. Qualification for this event is solely based on national ranking, making participation itself a significant accomplishment.
The Lezo club once again proves that a modest yet solid and well-managed project can successfully compete against the most powerful teams in the country.
