Errenteria will strengthen the dance sector through its participation in the transborder network DOBLA, which was presented in Biarritz.

Errenteria will strengthen the dance sector by participating in the transborder network DOBLA. This project, presented in Biarritz, aims to establish a choreographic network across Euskal Herria, and the "biscuit town" will be part of it.
During the presentation, Mayor Aizpea Otaegi, alongside representatives from the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council and the Basque Government, emphasized that "this network aligns perfectly with the municipality's vision for culture and inter-institutional collaboration".
The project will commence development immediately; it will contribute to promoting the work of six companies, with the first professional courses scheduled to be held in Errenteria on September 9th. Consequently, at the beginning of the next academic year, the town will be one of the locations hosting these residencies.

"Being part of the DOBLA network will allow Errenteria to become a meeting point for creation and experimentation. Furthermore, it will open new opportunities to position and project the municipality within a solid international network."

Regarding the commitment to join this project, Otaegi highlighted that "we share territory, history, and cultural reality, and the challenges of the cultural sector are common to both sides of the border." In this vein, she recalled that "DOBLA strengthens cooperation between agents and institutions on both sides of the border, building bridges".
Moreover, participating in DOBLA demonstrates "Errenteria's historical and political commitment to this art form." As the councilor stated, "dance is an artistic discipline with enormous transformative capacity".
Finally, Otaegi wished to emphasize "the importance of projects like this." An initiative that, as indicated by the City Council, "we foresee will have a long trajectory, making participation in it fundamental".
