This biennial participatory process seeks to gather firsthand the needs, proposals, and concerns of residents. Concurrently, it allows the municipal government to provide information on planned projects in each area and to cross-reference action priorities.
In addition to collecting community input, the assemblies will serve to report on activities carried out over the past two years and to inform about the degree of compliance with commitments made in previous meetings. This approach aims to reinforce the continuity of the participatory process and ensure follow-up on proposed actions.
The assembly schedule will commence next week. The first meeting is set for Tuesday, April 14, at 6:00 PM, at the Gaztaño neighborhood association. Two days later, on Thursday, April 16, the Alaberga neighborhood assembly will take place at the Arditurri neighborhood association headquarters, also starting at 6:00 PM.
All sessions will be attended by Mayor Aizpea Otaegi, along with two councilors from the governing team, to directly address citizen concerns and provide explanations on municipal actions. This format aims to facilitate closer and more direct contact, as well as enhance transparency in public management.
The City Council emphasizes the importance of citizen involvement in these initiatives, which help define action priorities in different neighborhoods and build public policies better adapted to local reality. Furthermore, it highlights that these meetings enable the detection of specific needs, identification of shared problems, and progress towards consensual solutions between the administration and the citizenry.
