The Usurbil City Council has announced that the enrollment period for the nursery school (Haurreskola) for the 2026-27 academic year will be open from April 20 to May 8, for children born in 2025 and 2026.

The enrollment process must be managed at Udarregi Ikastola, located at Gernika ibilbidea 11. Families can register by filling out the application form provided by the Usurbil City Council. For more information, contact 943 36 12 16 or email haurreskola@udarregi.eus.
The call is aimed at parents or legal guardians of children born in 2025 and 2026. As part of this campaign, an open day has been organized for Tuesday, April 21, at 5:30 PM, to introduce the project.

"Children born between May 1 and May 10 will be able to register until May 20."

Municipal sources
Children already enrolled in the previous academic year do not need to reapply, as their place is automatically guaranteed, provided it is in the same Haurreskola and schedule. Those who wish to use the nursery school on the first day of the academic year in September 2026 must enroll during this period. Those planning to start later will not be able to register during this period and will not have a place reserved. In such cases, enrollment will open monthly in the consortium's Haurreskolas between September 2026 and April 2027, if places are available.
The City Council advises that if the nursery school service is anticipated to be needed once the academic year has started, it is recommended to make contact during the enrollment period, as places cannot be guaranteed for late registrations.
The municipality is in the process of integrating into the Haurreskolas Consortium. Unless there are changes, from September onwards, this service will be offered as part of the consortium. Currently, as it is still a municipal nursery school, this year's enrollment has been called by the City Council. Additionally, the Kalezarko building is scheduled for renovation, and in the meantime, the Haurreskola service is being offered in the Agerialde building.
For the upcoming academic year, a total of 42 places will be offered: 16 for children aged 0-1 year and 26 for children aged 1-2 years. These places can be adjusted to meet emerging needs, and the service will be free. Regarding the calendar, the service can be offered from September 4 to July 31, a total of 196 days. A monitoring committee, composed of the City Council, families, and educators, will agree on the calendar and submit the proposal to the Haurreskolak Consortium.
The schedule is also defined, with a maximum stay of eight hours for children. Two types of schedules will be offered, with flexibility for entry and exit: morning schedule (from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM) and full-day schedule (from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM). A minimum monthly attendance of 80% will be required for children. The Consortium will offer two options for meals: families bringing food from home or a catering service, if feasible. Children attending for the first time will have an adaptation period of at least ten working days, at times agreed upon with the Haurreskola.
