The Errenteria City Council will launch the 8th Bizi Errenteria voucher campaign on October 1, 2026, aiming to boost the municipality's commercial, hospitality, and service sectors and direct citizen consumption to local establishments. Vouchers can be used until November 30 in participating businesses.
This year's campaign introduces a significant novelty: citizens will not need to acquire vouchers in advance, as they can be activated or issued directly at the establishment when making a purchase. As part of the BIZI Errenteria initiative, launched in 2020, the council has previously conducted seven voucher campaigns to promote the local economy and encourage local shopping habits.
With this new system, the council aims to reduce administrative procedures for citizens, minimize technical issues from previous editions, and make businesses active participants in the campaign, thereby strengthening the relationship between the sector and residents.
Vouchers will not be assigned to individual businesses; citizens can use them at any participating establishment without prior linkage, aiming to spread the campaign's impact across the entire network of local businesses.
The goal for this year is to surpass the 69% usage rate achieved in the previous campaign, reaching a 70% utilization rate. The voucher allocation is based on the municipal registry data from June 10, 2026: three vouchers for citizens aged 18-35 and two for those over 35. Approximately 54,177 vouchers will be put into circulation.
The objective is not merely to offer a large number of vouchers but to ensure their actual use, thereby generating the maximum impact on the local economy. Through a municipal contribution of nearly 300,000 euros, a consumption volume of at least 600,000 euros is projected.
