The 13th Innovation Week, Donostia WeekINN, organized by Fomento de San Sebastián, will be held from October 23 to November 2. This initiative will offer citizens of all ages the opportunity to learn closely about projects, research, and new opportunities linked to science and innovation.
This year's edition kicks off with the XXVII edition of “Ciencia en Acción” (Science in Action) at the Kursaal, gathering students, professors, researchers, and disseminators from various countries, and including a free science fair. Following this, there will be sessions on artificial intelligence, sports, health, and technology, as well as the 13th Public Innovation Congress, held for the first time in Euskadi. The DonostiaINN Awards will recognize innovative companies and entities, and the first edition of the international competition “Donostia Meeting Minds”, aimed at young university students worldwide, will conclude the event.
Ane Oyarbide, Councilor for Economy and Local Employment, highlights that "WeekINN is an opportunity for citizens to approach science, technology, and innovation directly." She also points out that "San Sebastián has a science and innovation ecosystem with a great capacity to generate knowledge and talent, and from Fomento de San Sebastián, we work to connect this reality with citizens and attract national and international initiatives."
By days, WeekINN will include: “Ciencia en Acción” (October 23-25, Kursaal), featuring over 300 students and 60 scientific projects; “IA en Acción” (October 26, EKINN), focusing on generative AI applications in business management; “Deporte, Ciencia y Emprendimiento” (October 27, EKINN), analyzing sports as a driver of health and technology; “Nodos Urbanos de Innovación” (October 27, EKINN), a conversation on new city models; the 13th Public Innovation Congress (October 29-30, Kursaal), for public sector professionals; the DonostiaINN Awards (October 29, Hotel María Cristina), recognizing business innovation; and the international competition “Donostia Meeting Minds” (November 2, Kursaal), for university students with innovative solutions using AI.
WeekINN is made possible through the collaboration of entities within the local science, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship ecosystem. The event will transform various spaces in San Sebastián into meeting points for citizens, talent, science, technology, and innovation.
