The traditional San Ignacio pilgrimage will take place on July 31st in the meadows of Urbia, gathering hundreds of hikers.

This Friday, July 31st, the meadows of Urbia in Oñati will host the traditional San Ignacio pilgrimage. The festival serves as a meeting point for hundreds of hikers ascending from Arantzazu, as well as those coming from Segura, Zegama, and nearby towns in Álava.
The events, organized by the joint administration of Gipuzkoa and Álava, will commence at 11:30 AM with the traditional mass and bertsos at the hermitage in Urbia. Following this, there will be a 'hamaiketako' (mid-morning snack) offered by the administration, rural sports, and music by Sukia and Marki.
A notable addition this year is the reinforcement of the bus service between Oñati and Arantzazu by the Oñati City Council, with a second vehicle. Buses will operate from 07:30 AM to 07:30 PM, running every half hour to facilitate sustainable travel to the festival.
Although the local inn is undergoing renovation, food and drink will be available thanks to the catering service provided by Txomin Parrillak and Basabe Garagardoek.
