The PSE-EE of Arrasate has called on the EH Bildu municipal government to implement a comprehensive plan to combat the proliferation of graffiti and vandalism affecting the municipality's image.

Socialists denounce the growing «sense of dirt and abandonment» in several areas of the municipality, such as the Kulturola building, Seber Altube square, and the building known as the trade unions' headquarters. In the latter case, where new housing units have just been completed, the feeling of neglect is particularly concerning.

"It is particularly striking that spaces of recent construction or rehabilitation are conveying an image of neglect."

The Socialist Municipal Group emphasizes that maintaining cleanliness and caring for public spaces is a direct responsibility of the City Council, which must go beyond isolated actions. They propose a comprehensive plan combining immediate cleaning efforts, preventive measures, public awareness campaigns, and sanctions for uncivil behavior.
They have warned that the proliferation of graffiti «not only affects the aesthetics of the municipality but also has a direct economic impact on public coffers, as its removal entails a cost borne by all Arrasate residents».

"It is urgent to act if we want clean and well-maintained spaces that reflect respect for the municipality. Therefore, we ask EH Bildu to act, not to look the other way, and to take immediate measures."

The socialists advocate for a municipality free of vandalism where respect for the environment is the norm.
