The artists Pantxoa Carrere and Peio Ospital, prominent figures in Basque song, will bid farewell to the stage on January 9 and 10, 2027, with two special concerts at the BEC! in Barakaldo. However, before this final goodbye, they will embark on a five-concert tour, one of which will take place in Bergara on September 16.
This tour, which begins on May 9 in Santutxu, will revisit some of the key moments of their career. The artists stated that through this tour, they wish to express gratitude to those who organized those concerts "despite prohibitions and obstacles," and to sing songs that are almost 60 years old alongside new generations.
Above prohibitions and obstacles, and even knowing that it was very risky, they want to use this last tour to show their gratitude to those who organized those concerts, as well as to sing with new generations some songs that are about to turn 60 years old.
The concert in Bergara holds special significance, serving as a tribute to their first performance in Hegoalde, specifically in this Gipuzkoan town, in 1971, while Franco was still alive. Accustomed to performing for about 200 people in Iparralde, their surprise and emotion were immense when they faced 2,000 fans in Bergara.
During the tour, on May 24, they will travel to the Baluarte in Iruñea, an "essential stop" in the "capital of Euskal Herria" that "holds special memories for the duo." In Lesaka, the performance will be on September 5. There, they recall a concert during the Franco regime where the Guardia Civil arrested and detained them at the barracks until the next day. Finally, the tour will conclude on December 11 near their home, in Baiona.
On stage, Pantxoa eta Peio will be joined by young Irundarra Dánae Riaño (known from the TV series Goazen), Mixel Ducau (guitars), Gorka Pastor (keyboards), Iñaki Diéguez (accordion), and Josu Erviti (percussion). Tickets will be available starting Monday, April 13, on the Pantxoa eta Peio website.
