The event will commence at 11:30 AM at the Laboratorium, from where the participants will proceed to Ariznoa Square, accompanied by the trikitilaris from the Music School. The grand finale is scheduled for 1:00 PM in Munibe Square, where the final choreographies will be performed. In case of rain, the entire session would be moved to the pelota court.
This year, five dance groups will participate: Bergarako Dantza Eskola, Taupa Dantza Taldea, Abarka Dantza Taldea, Moises Azpiazu, and Camdem Dance Studio. Compared to last year's edition, there is one additional group, as Abarka Dantza Taldea will join the initiative for the first time. A member of this group stated that they did not hesitate when invited, as they are a very enthusiastic group, and about fifteen people aged between 18 and 70 will be dancing.
“"When we received the invitation, we didn't hesitate; we are a very enthusiastic group. Around fifteen people between 18 and 70 years old will be dancing, and we are very excited."
The other four groups also did not want to miss the opportunity to participate again, given the positive reception last year. The Camden Dance group will bring approximately 60-70 dancers, making it the group with the largest number of participants. Meanwhile, 55 dancers from Moises Azpiazu will take part, 50 people from the Bergara Music and Dance School, and eight from Taupa Dantza Taldea.
The Dance Day was established last year on the initiative of the Bergara City Council, with the aim of providing a showcase for local dance groups. All participating groups consider it a very good idea and have expressed their gratitude to the City Council. A member of the Camden Dance group stated that Dance Day is a day of solidarity for them, to be with and enjoy other groups. A member of the Music and Dance School emphasized that this initiative helps to dispel myths about supposed competition between groups, demonstrating that they have worked together easily.
“"Dance Day is a day of solidarity for us; to be with and enjoy other groups."
A member of the Abarka group added that it will be an enriching initiative for the town, as it is an excellent opportunity to showcase the diverse styles of each group. Furthermore, a member of the Taupa group highlighted the benefits of holding the event in the street, allowing passersby to see the dances and decide to participate. Finally, a member of Moises Azpiazu invited citizens, stressing that it will be a joyful day and that the younger dancers will greatly appreciate public involvement.
