The foral cycle path network in Gipuzkoa registered 27,700 daily trips in 2025, marking a 12.6% increase from the previous year and accounting for a third of the usage of foral public transport.

According to Jose Ignacio Asensio, Deputy General and Deputy for Sustainability, and Monica Pedreira, Director of Ecological Transition, the foral cycle path network has shown positive development. Usage is particularly concentrated in six sections: Herrera-Txintxerpe, Martutene-Astigarraga, Azpeitia-Azkoitia, Tolosa-Alegia, Bergara-Elorregi, and Anoeta-Tolosa. Of these, the Bergara-Elorregi section alone accounts for 431,771 daily trips.

"The Gipuzkoa Foral Cycle Path Network is a fundamental infrastructure for daily mobility, as it is primarily used on weekdays and for trips related to work, studies, and accessing services."
