The Usondo park will host three concerts, kicking off this Saturday. Meanwhile, El Espolón will once again be home to the Berumuga festival, now in its twenty-sixth edition. The festival remains true to its founding philosophy: bringing blues, jazz, soul, and rock proposals to the public, while also embracing sounds and artists outside the mainstream circuits.
The Usondo concerts will open with Basque rock singer-songwriter Txuma Murugarren, performing tomorrow at 22:00. He will be followed on July 9th by Moonshine Wagon, a band formed in Gasteiz in 2013, known for their unique heavy-bluegrass style. What began as friends playing for fun has grown into a self-managed act touring Europe and America.
The Usondo series will conclude on July 18th with Bea Asurmendi from Aramio, presenting her work 'Asteartea'. The artist offers a sonic universe blending contemporary jazz and folk, featuring songs in Basque, Spanish, and English. This intimate and personal project is partly inspired by her experience in a women's therapeutic group.
While Usondo focuses on stylistic diversity, Berumuga will transform El Espolón into a meeting point for lovers of black music and distinctive artistic proposals. The festival has established itself as one of Bergara's most unique cultural initiatives, enlivening Friday evenings in July.
The first Berumuga event on July 3rd features Koko-Jean & The Tonics, led by Koko-Jean Davis, former vocalist of The Excitements. They will perform their second album, 'Love Child', a project blending soul, rhythm & blues, and rock and roll, noted for its powerful live performances and a sound that updates classic influences with 70s soul atmosphere.
On July 10th, one of the international artists, American guitarist, singer, and songwriter Jackie Venson, will perform. She has made a name for herself with a blend of blues, rock, and funk, finding one of her greatest strengths in live performances. A week later, on the 17th, NF Soul Station will take the stage, a group adept at navigating soul, funk, and groove sounds with dynamic concerts and a strong audience connection.
The festival's closing act on July 24th will be Maria Carbonell Blues Mood, an emerging Valencian band whose music centers on blues, combining the genre's classic roots with contemporary sensibility. All concerts are scheduled to start at 22:00.
