Despite playing away from home, Bergara's players had a good chance to secure a spot in the final. However, they were unable to replicate their home performance. The Bergara team had a poor start, losing the first match 22-8. They managed to level the tie by winning the youth category match (22-7), but the senior game ultimately decided the outcome of the tie.
Bergara needed to score 18 points to reach the final. According to Julen Aranburu, the sector manager, "the players were not comfortable on the court." The home team established a lead of about four points, which they maintained throughout the match. "We were chasing the score the entire time, and it was a difficult game," added Aranburu.
Aduna proved superior in the decisive match, winning 22-10 and thus eliminating Bergara from contention for the final. Although the aggregate score from both legs ended in a draw, Aduna had the advantage in the total number of points scored and conceded.
“"We've had a spectacular run, and we had a very good chance to play in the final. We almost had the ticket in our hands, but it slipped away at the last moment. It will serve us to learn, and hopefully, to prepare well for next year and have a good run."
The Bergara team highly values the journey they have taken, but Aranburu admits they felt "a lot of disappointment" after losing the tie. They aim to learn from the experience and prepare thoroughly for next year to achieve a successful season.
