With the arrival of the first summer days, the successful and traditional event of the Arrasate Rugby Taldea returns this year, celebrating its XXVI edition from June 4th to 6th. The Mojategi field will host the Popular Rugby Championship, and each night, the tent in the Plaza del Pueblo will feature musical performances.
The club members have already prepared the large quantities they will serve, similar to last year: 2,300 liters of beer, over 600 small bottles, 220 chickens, 570 pork knuckles, 1,300 sausages, 14 boxes of potatoes, and around 1,800 bread rolls.
The tent doors will open on Thursday, June 4th, at 6:30 PM, with the official opening at 7:00 PM. On the first day, in collaboration with Mondragon University, there will be traditional Basque sports in the square, followed by a pintxopote (tapas crawl), and from 8:00 PM onwards, the kitchen will be in operation. In the evening, a concert by Amaiur and Garazi will liven up the dinner, and municipal representatives will also dine there.
On Friday, the opening will be at 7:00 PM, and dinners will be served from 8:00 PM. Musically, the band Los Retros will entertain the square. This year, the recognition "Danon ARTien ez bada, ez dalako!" (If not by all of us, it's not by anyone!) will be presented on Friday's program.
Saturday will be the main day. From 2:00 PM onwards, lunches will be served, offering paella, chicken, and dessert, available for dining in or taking away. In the afternoon, for the second consecutive year, the II Popular Rugby Championship will take place in Mojategi. In the evening, DJ Goiko will keep the atmosphere lively in the Plaza del Pueblo tent until the early hours.
II Popular Rugby Championship: Following last year's success, the club has once again organized a popular tournament. This non-contact championship has seen around 220 people register, divided into 19 teams, under the motto "Not knowing rugby is no excuse not to participate".
