Sanlo Senior Teams Secure Play-off Spot in Basque League

Both senior handball teams from Elgoibar's club will conclude the regular season among the top five in their categories.

The senior handball teams of Elgoibar's Sanlo club, both male and female, have successfully secured their places in the Basque League play-offs, even before playing their final regular season match.

The club's two senior teams, the Malape taberna women's team and the Alcorta Forging Group men's team, are set to play their last regular league match this Sunday. Both teams approach this final game having already achieved their primary objectives.
With one match remaining, both teams are currently in fifth place in their respective league tables, which guarantees their participation in the play-offs. These play-offs will determine the second team to advance to the promotion phase for the First National League, as the regular league winner qualifies directly.
The Malape taberna team will conclude their regular season on Sunday at the Lezo sports center at 12:00 PM, facing league leaders Ereintza. Meanwhile, the Alcorta Forging Group will bid farewell to the regular league at the Olaizaga sports center at 12:15 PM, playing against Cervecería Sopela escolapios A.
Additionally, the players from the Pizzería Salento team will travel tomorrow to the Labegaraieta sports center in Bergara to compete in another match for the Gipuzkoa Cup at 7:00 PM.
