The Elgoibar Women's House will celebrate its fifth anniversary on September 17th by presenting the Lila Award and hosting a subsequent theatrical performance.

The event to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the Elgoibar Women's House will take place on September 17th, starting at 6:30 PM. Admission will be free for all attendees. Following the main ceremony, attendees can enjoy the play ‘Correr la Lilatón con palmas y a lo loco’, performed by actresses Libe Mendizabal and Alizia Otxoa.
This play is an adaptation of ‘Correr una carrera con palmas y a lo loco’, created by Libe Mendizabal in 2016 and premiered at the La Farándula venue in San Sebastián. The original version told a story centered around the well-known Behobia-Donostia race. One of the most interesting aspects of the play is the parallelism the author draws between the Lilatón and the theatrical performance, highlighting that both ultimately become a celebration.
This year, the Lila Award has been given to Loredi Salegi. The decision was made for several reasons, including her promotion of spaces for meeting, support, and relationships that have strengthened the municipality's social fabric, and her personal and professional commitment to defending equality between women and men. Furthermore, she will be recognized for her work in creating open spaces for reflection and participation when equality still held a limited place on the public agenda, bringing feminism closer to citizens, and for her participation in the creation of the group Uluka Batukada.
This year, a record number of candidacies were received for the Lila Award, with a total of 42 proposals. The organizers extend their gratitude to everyone who completed the questionnaire to submit a nomination.
