This year's edition, the 41st, will have the Coliseo Theater in Eibar as its main stage, where several performances aimed at schools will be presented throughout May. The cycle maintains its pedagogical and cultural vocation, offering students the opportunity to engage with performing arts during school hours in a renowned theatrical space.
At the same time, the exhibition allows participating companies to present their shows to a young audience, in a context especially linked to training, artistic sensibility, and the creation of new spectators. The program will run from May 7 to 19, with performances at the Coliseo Theater starting at 3:00 PM.
The first scheduled event will be on May 7 with Zomorroak by Spasmo Teatro. This work proposes an approach to the world of insects through physical comedy, in a mockumentary format full of rhythm, color, and absurd situations. On May 8, Nuur will arrive at the Coliseo, a proposal where movement, music, and light articulate a scenic journey about birth, play, emotions, and the passage of time.
The exhibition will continue on May 12 with Etxerik txikiena by Yarleku. This company addresses the situation of refugee children forced to leave their place of origin. The closing of this program will take place on May 19 with Alai familian by the Lasala company, presenting a story about family diversity.
“"The play offers an accessible reflection for all audiences on displacement, vulnerability, and the importance of personal bonds. Starting from the question of what makes a place a home, the proposal suggests that, in certain circumstances, even a hug can become the smallest home."
The performance of Kimu by Marie de Jongh Konpainia, initially scheduled for May 7, has been postponed to October due to scheduling conflicts. With this new edition, the School Theater Exhibition consolidates its role as a cultural and educational event in Eibar, combining scenic languages and themes relevant to child and youth audiences.
