The Basque Government's Department of Sustainable Mobility, through Euskal Trenbide Sarea, has approved the construction of a pedestrian footbridge in Elgoibar to link Urruzuno park with the urban center.

This project aims to resolve the disconnection caused by the Bilbao-Donostia railway line. The initiative has a budget of 1.9 million euros and a 15-month construction period.
The structure will feature an elevator and stairs to ensure accessibility. The footbridge will span the tracks with a length of approximately 31 meters and will have a variable width, reaching 6 meters at the connection point with the elevator.
The urban development plan includes adjusting the paths in Urruzuno park, bordering the calisthenics area. Additionally, a self-cleaning restroom will be installed in the space between the elevator tower and the terrace of the nearby gastronomic society.
