Eibar will host the 41st edition of Galician Literature Day this weekend, from May 8th to 10th, with an extensive program in Urkizu park combining music, dance, and traditional activities.

The festivities will commence on Friday, May 8th, at 7:00 PM, with the opening of the festival committee's bar. The day will include a children's entertainment gathering by Lekim Animazioa, followed by a 'poteo' (social drink) enlivened by the bagpipes of Os Galaicos and the trikitilaris of Eibar. The evening will culminate with a lively open-air dance (verbena) featuring the orchestra Ritmo Joven from 10:00 PM, complemented by a large 'queimada' (traditional Galician punch) at midnight.
On Saturday, May 9th, the agenda will begin at 11:30 AM with mixed 'chaves' (traditional game) throws, rural sports, and a 'rana' (frog game) championship. In the afternoon, at 6:30 PM, there will be an exhibition of traditional Galician dances and music by Os Galaicos and the bagpipe group Eguzki-Fole. The night will be animated by the orchestra Solera from 10:30 PM, with another 'queimada' at midnight.
The closing of Galician Literature Day will be on Sunday, May 10th, with a day dedicated to tradition. The Kezka Dantza Taldea group and the trikitilaris of Eibar will bring Basque folklore to Urkizu park with a performance starting at 12:00 PM. One of the most symbolic acts will be the traditional floral offering to the monument of Castelao at 2:00 PM. The day will conclude with a board game session organized by Odisea and a musical session by DJ Miren Guisasola, before the closing ceremony with the bar of the Casa de Galicia shutting down at 10:00 PM.
