Unzaga square in Eibar will be the setting for the NorthFit Hybrid HK event on Saturday, April 25, 2026, a unique competition that will merge crossfit exercises with traditional Basque rural sports.

Between 100 and 120 participants are expected to test their strength and skill in this competition, which is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM. The event will feature a combination of typical crossfit exercises, such as dumbbells, weight loads, stationary bikes, and rowing, alongside classic elements of Basque rural sport.
Competitors will engage in traditional Basque challenges like txingas (weight carrying), lokots bilketa (corn cob gathering), and lasto altxatzea (hay bale lifting). The event is divided into several stations, with each team having eight minutes to complete the tasks at each station.
After completing each exercise, and before moving on to new challenges at the next station, participants must complete a 500-meter run through the urban area of Eibar. This additional physical demand is designed to further intensify the competition.
The NorthFit Hybrid HK Eibar event is structured into mixed pairs and mixed trios categories. For the trios, the distinction is made based on the number of men and women in each team. The registration fee is 120 euros for pairs and 180 euros for trios.
