On June 5th, starting at 9:00 PM, Eibarko Baso Biziak and the Natur association, with the support of the Eibarko City Council, will hold 'Bat Night' at Estixa Park, located on the Arrate road. This event aims to educate the public about these essential nocturnal mammals and their ecological role.
The event will include a small educational exhibition and a brief detection tour, offering participants the chance to learn more about bats and hear their calls live. Organizers emphasize that bats are 'silent and essential neighbors' of the ecosystem, playing a crucial role in controlling insect populations and thus promoting the health of forests, gardens, and green spaces.
Furthermore, bats are excellent indicators of biodiversity, as their conservation is closely linked to environmental quality, the availability of shelters, and well-preserved habitats. The event seeks to debunk myths and prejudices surrounding these animals, showcasing their true function in nature and raising awareness about the need for their protection.

Eibarko Baso Biziak highlights that it will be a unique opportunity to observe, learn, and listen live to the ultrasonic signals emitted by bats, which will be transformed into audible sounds for humans using special detectors. This activity is part of environmental education efforts focused on understanding the natural richness of Eibar and its surroundings.
