The Eibar City Council, in collaboration with Uni Eibar-Ermua and the city's merchants' association, has launched a program to provide vocational training (FP) students in Commerce with the opportunity to gain practical experience in window dressing.

Through this initiative, students will be able to apply the knowledge acquired during their training by designing, preparing, conditioning, and decorating shop windows in the city's commercial establishments. The aim is to foster practical learning while simultaneously contributing to improving the image of Eibar's shops for one of the most important commercial campaigns of the year.
The mayor of Eibar, Jon Iraola, highlighted the importance of promoting initiatives that strengthen local commerce and create opportunities for new generations: “Commerce is a fundamental part of life in Eibar. Supporting our establishments means contributing to maintaining a vibrant city, with activity in its streets and proximity services. With this program, we also offer students the chance to demonstrate what they have learned in a real environment and to get closer to the world of work”.
For her part, the Councilor for Economic Development, Vanesa Hortas, emphasized the value of collaboration between the City Council, training centers, and the commercial sector: “We want this initiative to be beneficial for both students and our businesses. Students will be able to put their knowledge into practice and develop their creativity, while participating establishments will have a window dressing proposal adapted to the Christmas campaign. It is a way to unite training, commerce, and economic revitalization in Eibar”.
A total of ten establishments will be selected. Commercial establishments in Eibar wishing to participate must register by sending an email to hitzarmenaeibarkoudala@uni.eus, between October 19th and 29th. If the number of applications exceeds the available places, the selection will be made by lottery on October 30th. Subsequently, the list of selected businesses will be published on the municipal website.
Once the selection is made, students from Uni Eibar-Ermua's Commerce program will be responsible for the assembly, conditioning, and decoration of the participating shop windows. The work must be completed by December 4th, so that establishments can showcase their prepared window displays during the Christmas commercial campaign.
Businesses interested in participating or obtaining more information about the program can contact the Economic Development Department of the Eibar City Council by calling 943 708 451 or emailing ekonomia@eibar.eus.
